Let me start off saying - the food that I had at Drastix was freakin' DE-LI-CIOUS!!!

I had the restaurant bookmarked for about two weeks and after a long day at work, I had the chance to go to Downtown Hollywood to check them out. Located along Tyler Street, Drastix specializes in skewered food on sticks served with flavorful sauces. The menu offers pieces of chicken, steak, duck, shrimp, veggies, etc. on skewers; a variety of sides and sauces; there's also appetizers, soup, desserts, cold/hot beverages, beer & wine; and Drastix bowls where you have a choice of proteins, base, and sauce...sauteed with onions and bell peppers and seasonings, and served with a drink.

I had the pleasure of meeting Victor, one of the owners, who was nice enough to go through the menu. Now I love seafood, so I decided to try the shrimp bowl with Jasmine rice and salad, sweet pineapple sauce and a sprite. I also wanted to try the bread pudding bites for dessert.. The food was prepared in a timely manner and I couldn't help but take a peak. Visually the food looked amazing...in a tropical sense. I can see myself in a nice resort in the Caribbean eating this dish. Taste-wise...like I stated in the beginning...freakin' delicious! Everything tasted fresh. Rice was cooked to a soft consistency, salad was nice and crisp, shrimp was cooked and seasoned nicely, and the pineapple sauce well complemented the dish. The bread pudding bites was very tasty. I was even dipping my finger in the homemade cream it was served with. I enjoyed the dish very, very much and I look forward to enjoying another. Hope this business sticks around, it adds an artistic flare to the Hollywood area.
